We left Salamanca Saturday morning, and drove 2 1/2 hours to sunny Madrid. In Madrid we checked in to the 'okay hostel', no seriously, that's its name. The okay hostel more than lived up to its name by being quite excellent. Is excellently located in Madrid, just a short walk to the Plaza Mayor and of course from there it's just a short walk to anywhere. We went to a special Picasso exhibition in the gallery Reina Sophia which was enjoyed by all. But I think the highlight was 2 1/2 hours free time for the students to do some shopping in the Puerta del Sol. This morning we got up and had breakfast in the hotel. A few of the students went to the Prado Museum the bulk of us went for an extended walk around the western side of Madrid. We walked on down past the palace, through the Royal Gardens, up to the Plaza de España and back to the Plaza Mayor. It was a really lovely morning, the sun was shining in and the birds were singing and at 12 o'clock we jumped in the bus for a six hour bus ride to Granada. As soon as we got here we all realised that we were in love with the city. Granada is just amazing. Standby for updates. Tomorrow will be touring the Albacyn.
