After our daily lessons from 9-1 with a 20 min break ... we all went to a charming little Italian restaurant for lunch found by Lia. Among the regional offerings was donkey ordered by Ashton!
Next we walked to the Roman Amphitheatre where we're met by Enrico for an interesting 2 1/2 hour tour of the Roman( 2000 years old) and Middle Ages (1000 years old!) The sheer no of artefacts and their beauty was quite amazing. Our word for the day is bel Vedere .... the view from the convent looking over Verona was fantastic!
After our Wednesday lessons, students staff walked along the walls of the river to stop at Vesuvio Pizzaria then onto a fantastic 2+ hour guided tour of the Verona Arena, the 4th largest built in the Roman Empire! ( Can you guess the other 3?) Enrico our tour guide weaves history, social customs and role-play into his excursions. Today he takes us to the Roman amphitheatre
